His conversational style is approachable and thought-provoking. There are subjects like forgiveness and thinking someone can’t or will never change. These are the discussion that will help to mature many Christians in their thinking.

The 9 lessons are backed with Scripture and are personally applicable to your life. This book is useful for mature Christians and for those new to following Jesus.

My recommendation is that you pick this book up, read it, and share it.

My own personal favorite is chapter 5, Follow Your Heart. Shane does an amazing job of unpacking this well-meaning yet poisonous lie that many Christians not only believe, but readily offer up as advice.

Small groups could really benefit by reading and discussing 9 Common Lies Christians Believe together and studying the Scripture connected to each chapter.

The bottom line is that we have so many well meaning yet unbiblical things that have crept into Christianity. We need to expose them and find freedom in what God’s word teaches us.
